Homestay Hosts Take Travelers Throughout Melbourne
The soaring temperatures in Melbourne -- a high of almost 94 degrees F -- sent the
international travelers searching for a shady spot in this city by the bay. Heat
nonwithstanding, our hosts took us all over their beautiful city -- from the beach
to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Stay tuned for personal stories about our adventurers
in Monday's report.
A Farewell Barbie at The Laird
Over four years ago, bootscoot begin in Melbourne at The Laird. The New Frontier
Dance Association hosted a special barbecue on the outdoor patio for Pink Triangles
Down Under. After dinner, (beware the buttered hamburger buns) we bootscooted and
square danced the night away.

Embarassing language moment:
Today at breakfast, John announced that he was "Just going to the Sydney Mardi
Gras party for a bit." The Australians at the table snickered. An American living
in Melbourne came to his rescue by whispering in his ear that "a bit" was
slang for "some sex".

From: John and Chip in Melbourne, Australia
A big hello mates, from Australia! And especially a Happy Birthday to Ashlee! Tell
Kali that we haven't hugged any koala bears yet, but today we saw fruit bats in the
trees at the Botanical Gardens.
