15,000 posters to be distributed in Russia

AIDS infoshare is proud to present our first AIDS education/prevention poster. The poster is based on the novel Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Although banned for some time in the Soviet Union, the book is extremely popular among Russians of all ages. The story takes place in Moscow and focuses on the interactions among a variety of characters: a rather naive author, his mistress, a deceitful talking black cat, and an evil charismatic trickster -- Woland.

Our poster depicts a formal ball over which Woland is presiding. The quote at the top reads "This is a fact. And a fact is the most stubborn thing in the world."

The full-color poster was designed to draw people to the familar imagery in order to encourage them to read the basic information about HIV/AIDS located in the small rectangles on the sides of the image. These "facts" explain the difference between HIV and AIDS, how HIV is and how it is not transmitted, and how to use a condom.

Special thanks to illustrator Pablo Haz, art director John Paul, and Russell's Printing, Digital Pond, National Printing Ink, and DPI International for their donations to this project.
