A-Vesta will establish a comprehensive resource center for education and prevention of HIV/AIDS and STDs. The center will include a library, educational materials, and methodological base. In addition, A-Vesta will train 20 STD/HIV/AIDS educators/ counselors to work with pregnant women and will provide special times for consultation and use of the center by pregnant women.

Siberian Initiative will develop and run four seminars to train teachers in four schools in basic HIV/AIDS information and AIDS education techniques. Those trained will serve as informational sources not only for the students they teach, but also for their colleagues, friends, relatives, and sexual partners.

Cheliabinsk Fund AntiAIDS

The Cheliabinsk Fund AntiAIDS will conduct epidemiological research of STDs in the region, and will conduct a survey to determine what girls aged 13-18 know about STDs. They will use the results of these studies to produce 3,000 copies of a brochure “An open letter to teenage girls.”

Center of Narcology

Center of Narcology will conduct a survey of the existing types of consultation on HIV/STD prevention available to women who use drugs and how informed these women are about risk behavior and HIV transmission. Using the results of this research, the center will create and produce 1,500 copies of a brochure on HIV prevention aimed at women who use drugs.

Together Against AIDS works for the rights of children with HIV and their mothers. The organization hosts a camp in the summer for these children.
